When I applied for the Pencil Fellows Program, I didn’t know what company I’d be matched with for my summer internship or what my experience would be like! I was pretty excited and a little nervous. I was matched with Karin Bellantoni, a business growth strategist and executive coach. Lucky for me, she is the nicest and most bubbly person I have met. Under her supervision I have learned and grown so much these past weeks. I was also given the great opportunity to help plan and attend her monthly Intuition Salone.
On Monday August 1, we discussed the topic, Getting What You Want. We discussed the obstacles that would hinder you from achieving your goals and desires, as well as what solutions will help overcome these obstacles. These tips are versatile and can be used by anyone and everyone. The diversity of our group of attendees proves that the information learned at the Intuition Salone can be inspirational and helpful to different age groups!
Follow your intuition; the ability to understand something immediately, without the need for conscious reasoning.
That voice in your head that’s telling you to be careful and to think things through
That feeling in your stomach that’s making you second-guess your decision
Have confidence in yourself
Don’t pay attention and stress about how far away you are from the end goal, focus on the baby steps that you will take to reach the goal
Stick to your vision
Don’t settle for less
You have worked hard and have accomplished so much to get to where you are now. Allow yourself to have what you’ve earned
Don’t make up all these excuses and reasons why you don’t deserve it
Someone else is “more deserving” than you are
Karin’s Attraction Model
The “how” to getting what you want
CLARITY Clear and specific what does it look like and sound like? What does it feel like?
CHARGE Positive Emotional Connection, Conviction, Confidence, Faith
CARE Nurture, Plan and Make Way, Act As If
COMMIT Demonstrate, Showing Up
CATCH Actualize, Receive, Accept
Tools to Shift
Meditation to clear your mind
Journaling out your vision
Flip the negative thoughts into positive ones
Lift your mood and increase your vibration
Focus on the feelings over the thing that you want
How does the thing that you want make you feel?
The answer is different for different people
For example some people who want money say money makes them feel secure and others might say that money makes feel generous
I learned to chose something that will impact my life the most, define and gain clarity around what I want, and that what you want is a feeling, not a thing.
How do YOU get what you want?
What tips and tricks do you use to achieve your goals?
About the author: Hi. My name is Synorah Jean. Through the Pencil Fellows program I was connected to and hired by Karin Bellantoni to be her marketing intern. The Pencil Fellows program is a 2 year program for high school juniors and seniors. The purpose of this program is to hone the skills of the students through a 25 hour training period. Afterwards, the fellows are matched with interviews at potential internship sites. The whole point of this process is to prepare the fellows for the real world working experience.
